Truth, Reality, Nonfiction

Just briefly, because it’s (“truth, reality, nonfiction” is) a subject I could write forever about, I wanted to mention a story maybe everyone has heard (I don’t have a real feel for what news is big in the USA anymore): The New York Times reporter who made up stories and quotes and plagiarized others’ material for years (and was just caught). It gives one pause. Makes one think at least of how highly we value the truth, even if we can’t define it exactly. Read the NYT article (registration/login maybe required), and then maybe see the Arts & Letters Daily main page for links to others’ reactions to the story. Because the reporter was black, this has led to affirmative action discussion.
