FEAR THIS
Everybody knows where that title line comes from, the “No Fear” fearlessness campaign and apparel line. But even more directly, it was the sticker on the back of Al Arrigoni’s very loud red mustang back in the day (1995). I always got a kick out of hearing/seeing that car go by, mostly because it said “FEAR THIS” in huge white grunge font and I would have the mental image of the car threatening to beat someone up or intimidating in general.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, I saw another instant classic of automobile intimidation stickers today. It read “Nothing in this truck is worth your life.” That can mean two things as far as I can tell. Either the owner (or stickerputterupper) is simply informing that if you were to put a price on your life, how much you would pay for yourself, then that price would be greater than anything resting inside of the truck. It is unclear whether the stickerputterupper (SPU) is factoring in depreciation of goods or what.
Another angle on this phrase is that the SPU is indirectly saying that he will kill you if you attempt to steal anything from his car. This is intimidation. It also is a challenge. I don’t believe the SPU is waiting in his car or by his car in hopes that someone tries to steal stuff so he can kill them for it. But if he happens to be on his way back to his car from the store and you are breaking into his car, you will be killed.
In conclusion, watch out for that guy.
