Happy Birthday, Pato
It’s a cliche to say that the years fly by, and yet there’s no other way to say it. I am amazed that Pato is now six years old, and at the same time, it feels like he’s always been with me. This, I suppose, is where linear, chronological time fails to penetrate the brain, or where the brain is wiser than our clocks and pulsing cesium atoms in France. Our experience expands and contracts according to spiritual laws.
I love Pato. With every year his personality becomes more knowable. Now we are able to have interesting conversations, and he often brings home some new knowledge (generally about animals) that he shares with me without my even asking. He is bright, energetic, sensitive, enthusiastic, strong, and full of love. He has made me a better person. Happy birthday, Pato.
