U.S. Military Intervention
Through some string of links, I came across this very interesting Flash site of U.S. Miliary Interventions since 1802. Unfortunately, the numbskull who put it together believes that Tchaikovsky wrote his 1812 symphony inspired by the British-American War of 1812 (instead of Napoleon’s invasion of Russia that same year). Doesn’t this display some of the same navel-gazing the site seems to want to critique? Why’s it always got to be about us?

Not sure why you concluded the site was critiquing “navel-gazing.” (Unless you meant “naval gazing.”) Without spending the time to go through the whole thing, I think the guy is saying our military interventions may in many ways be inconsistent with our founding principles.
