Maddenation

Dr. Madden

Having recently finished the defense of my dissertation, I am now officially a doctor of English language and literature. I still have to revise some things and turn in my dissertation final copies, but it’s official nonetheless. I feel, mostly, relieved. Not too exhilarated. Not even too happy. Just relieved.

All I can say is congraduations, or, con-gra-tu-la-ti-ons on this historic occasion. We look forward to seeing you walk in that wonderful academic garb.

I’d like to say that seeing and reading “Dr. Madden” feels good. Don’t you think? Also, I’m much more likely to call you Patrick Madden, PhD., instead of Doctor Madden. You still rule completely!
