Speedy Delivery: New Al Qaeda Threat?

Have you read this? I am not one to throw myself vehemently to either side of the fence, but it’s a bit disappointing that the recent reports about imminent terrorist threats in NY, DC, and Newark come from 3-4 year old intelligence (pre-9/11). I am certainly afraid of terrorists, but I am also afraid of manipulative politicians, whose effect is more widespread and nefarious. Geez.

Be careful throwing yourself over any fence. You could get hurt! I hadn’t read the article until now, but I heard about it. I too am afraid of manipulative politicians, and raising the alert for political reasons would indeed be egregious. Because of the significance and cost of the recent announcement about terrorist threats, I have to give the benefit of the doubt to Tom Ridge and the homeland security people, at least for the time being. However, if the continuing probes by the press into the reasons for the alert do not uncover any credible “recent” threats, I would have to join the “dump Bush” campaign.
