On The Issues

NPR has a page on their site titled, On The Issues, where you can listen to what each candidate has said on certain topics. There are a lot of issues covered - from Gay Marriage, Patriot Act, Immigration, to Health Care. I suppose the main problem is that the product is short clips from Bush and Kerry speeches. And to me that means (I thought this initially, and had it confirmed, in my mind, when I listened to a few) the listener is only getting nicely shined bs. Nevertheless, it might still be helpful.

The lead-in page is about perhaps the most important single issue for me: abortion. It talks about how neither candidate seems ready nor excited to discuss it. It also highlights the importance of the Catholic vote and how neither guy is a good fit when you look at abortion, social issues, gay marriage, death penalty, and the war in Iraq. I just don’t know. How about you?
