Million Dollar Baby

Last night I saw Million Dollar Baby. It is a phenomenal movie about family and love and maybe just a little about boxing. The story and the acting are inspirational. I think you should see it. Soon. Hilary Swank does an amazing job as the female boxer Maggie Fitzgerald. She is a very likeable and believable character - one you can’t help but root for. I didn’t think a girl (no offense Kath) could be so inspirational - just like Rocky Balboa. And Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman were excellent as always. Once everybody has seen it, we can talk about a few things here on Maddenation. Go now!

Roger Ebert says Million Dollar Baby, “is the kind of movie where you sit very quietly in the theater and are drawn deeply into lives that you care very much about.” Yup, that’s how I felt.

His review is well-written and right-on. I’m not saying he’s a great writer - but it is definitely one of those times when someone has said what I only thought.

I agree with Ebert, “This is the best film of the year.”
