Clean up your language

This site was recommended to me by Dennis Weinberg. It covers lots of those maddening English language errors you hear and read everyday (and sometimes propagate yourself).

By the way, the list included with this site discusses presently, the that/which distinction, farther vs. further, and many other interesting mistakes other people make. Take a look through the list and you’ll surely find something interesting you or others near you are saying or writing wrong. For example, can we all agree to stop using the phrase, “Begs the question?” It doesn’t mean what you think it does. (I knew this, based on past readings in formal logic, but have continued to use the phrase in conversation because it is so commonly misunderstood to mean “raises the question.”
