Congratulations to Texas. Maybe I’m crazy, but I think I was as happy last night with a USC loss, as I would’ve been with an ND win. I think I might hate USC like I hated Miami and FSU of the late 80’s and 90’s.

Sports Guy wrote a great article about the game. You’ll most definitely agree with Sports Guy’s views on USC coaching (yeah, let’s not put in Reggie Bush on 4th down, two minutes left), Leinart’s cocky end-of-game comment (I hate that guy), ABC’s new winter show lineups, and of course, the senile Keith Jackson. Enjoy. One more thing - is Vince Young beyond amazing? Was he playing against a peewee team?

My favorite part was his calling Matt Leinart to task. I hate it when an athlete is ungracious, whether in victory or defeat. Leinart managed to be a jerk (to keep my language clean here) even when he got beat. I’d love to have heard his reaction if they’d lost to ND. Anyway:

12:26 — In his postgame interview with Holly, Matt Leinart throws out a classic, “I think we’re a better football team, they just made the plays in the end,” backhanded compliment before heading to the Roosevelt Hotel’s pool bar with Nick Lachey. You’re right, we shouldn’t have played the game, Matt. That was stupid. You guys were better.
