Strange how a simple idea can gather greater strength when you find that a sage has said it in a nice way. Everyone knows that writers have to be voracious readers, so it’s no surprise that Samuel Johnson said this:

The greatest part of a writer’s time is spent in reading, in order to write; a man will turn over half a library to make one book.
