I think the only way to tell if the pig is insane is to examine the brain and look for clogged synapses. There is an interesting discrepansy in length; 10’7” on Monster Pig vs. 9’4” on the NPR site. The difference is that NPR is “snout to tail” while Monster Pig is “snout to hoof.” Actually, snout to hoof may be the better measurement to compare to human height, no?

I’m a bit wishy-washy on matters of hunting for sport, but don’t you think it’s a kind of Schroedinger’s dilemma with the pig: It’s a shame they killed it, because who knows how big it might have gotten, and yet if they hadn’t killed it, we’d never know how big a pig in the wild can get. It’s too bad they didn’t shoot it with a whole lotta tranquilizers, measure it, tag it, and let it go on growing and terrorizing the three little wolves.

Some physicists whould say that the pig is still alive in a parallel universe somewhere.

As for putting tranquillizers in darts and shooting animals with them I’ve long thought that we need a new idea. Heck, they’ve been tranquillizing animals as long as I can remember. Maybe we should try hypnotizing them.

Finally, I don’t recall anything about wolves being mentioned in the account.
